What is a Death Doula?
I know what you're thinking. When I first heard the term "death doula" it sounded to my ears the way 14th-century plague doctor masks look to my eyes. However, I assure you it is not like that!
As a death doula, my job is to support you emotionally. I am not part of your medical team, I am part of your support team. As such, my role as death doula will be to offer a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, a buddy to laugh with and a hand to hold as you wade through the responsibilities of making decisions regarding future planning, tough conversations, or even just looking for ways to distract your mind.

I am not a replacement for hospice, but I do compliment it. You can think of me as a friend that you do not need to protect from your true feelings or worry about being "too much" around. I CHOOSE to walk through this phase of life with you. Check out my 'Services' page for a more in-depth breakdown of what I offer. And remember: I am not here to help you die; I am here to help you LIVE!
