FAQs
1. What areas does Stage Left cover?
Right now, I am located in Smyrna, GA so my service area primarily consists of Smyrna, Marietta, Austell, Mableton and parts of Atlanta. However, if you live nearish to the above-mentioned areas and are interested in my services, please reach out anyway and we will see what we can do.
2. Is a death doula the same as a personal care assistant?
No. As of now, I am not certified as a personal care assistant. Therefore, I do not handle hygiene and bathing, nor do I administer medications. While I offer caregiver respite services, arrangements must be made regarding hygiene, bathing and medications should the caregivers be gone long enough for any of those needs to arise. I will, however, be able to keep an eye on your loved one and alert the appropriate people should an urgent need arise while caregivers are away.
3. Do you take insurance?
No. I designed this business with simplicity in mind because I remember how dealing with medical issues and terminal illness meant forms upon forms upon forms. I want to keep it simple for both of us so that it is as easy and painless as possible to get me into your home and at your side as you face this journey.
4. What is the initial consultation like?
The initial consultation is a $20 flat rate. It consists of meeting with you and your loved ones, listening to what your needs are and how I can best be of service to YOU. I will bring some questions to ask to get the ball rolling, but my primary objective will be to listen.
5. What are scheduling and payments like?
We will work out the schedule each week to keep things flexible. I do require payment beforehand to confirm each visit, and I will send an email with an invoice and a link to my Venmo. Easy peasy.
